Thought Tracker | Tracking Observations When Watching Performances and Linking to Students Own Goals
Ever want to track the critical thinking and observations in from a live performance?
Whether you're working with YouTube, movies or going to see a live production, this handout/worksheet gives student friendly prompts to track their critical and creative thinking.
Designed for the theatre arts classroom with a rubric based on Ontario Curriculum expectations, this handout and activity can be adapted to fit all classroom environments.
I am fortunate to teach in an area that offers a great deal of live performance opportunities. If you are unable to see a live performance, consider using this handout for filmed performances.
Ideas for Incorporating This Activity Into Your Classroom:
Encourage performance literacy by having students compare a live or recorded performance to the choices they are making in their own work.
Refer to the Elements of Dance Handout as an example of using language to analyze performance.
Complete a goal setting activity from the student’s observations from the live/recorded performance.
